How can you put the chooks into bed without physically picking them up or herding them in.

I just shout come on then about 3 times at the gate and all 9 warrens are in, Geese are the same just stand in the paddock shout come on then 3 times and there tucked up in the straw   Less hassle for me, less hassle for the birds. They go in themselves when it becomes dark but if i have a straggler or am putting them away early as i have to be somewhere and wont be back till late that night this is my chosen method.

Mine haven't learnt how to put theirselves to bed yet so I chase them around the run for a bit before picking them up and tucking them up for the night.

I can say the same, though i'd like them to go to bed a tiny bit earlier.. just as it's getting very dark when they do go in.

They put themselves to bed at dusk...however that's getting later each night and sometimes I just want to comfy up in my pj's with a glass of wine, so herd them in about 9ish. They're quite good if I shout 'bedtime' and tend to head off in the right direction!

Mine also put themselves to bed! The time varies but it's always between 9pm and 9:30pm.

mine just go in when they're ready, but they give me a shout so I know they're ready for their story
