First notification this year of a full Smith Period.

Don't know what one is? See here:

Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

I've just received an email for the fourth day in a row now of a Full Smith in our postcode area.

Our nearest confirmed case is in Cornwall, I won't panic yet, but I'll be glued to the map!

I'm not panicking either, ours is an enormous postcode area and I won't be glued to the map either as you already know!   :tongue2:

I just wonder the reasoning. They're aware of the postcode areas omitted as I'm receiving emails, so either people must not exist in those areas or they don't grow stuff, specifically potatoes or tomatoes!

I've had an alert! First FSP this year. Hopefully it will be short-lived, and I've got all my fingers and toes crossed

My main crop are just about fully grown now so thinking about cutting back all the vegetation now as I don't have time to lift the spuds for a couple of weeks. What do others think?
There's more comfrey here than you can shake a stick at!

I'd leave them alone...........cut the tops off if you actually see any damage. Then leave another 2 weeks before lifting them.
