I like my jelly sweetly spiced with cinnamon and star anise too. Any sweet spice will make a nice combo ;)

Ours set fruit on this, its third year. Quite a lovely tree in its own right with attractive foliage and a spreading habit.

D'you know, I never thought I would say it as one of the reasons we moved out here was a way out of working at Tesco for the next goodness knows how long, the Government keep moving the retirement age! Likewise my OH with his job, he couldn't find a way out.

Now I would love a mooch round my old work place. Knowing where everything is, it would only take me twenty minutes to do a major shop.

However, I can live without cream...and proper cheese....and salted butter....and decent fish...and...and....

Well, I made quince jelly this morning. It looks good and I can't wait to try it. I just did plain but fancy adding some spice to some for the cold winter days.

It's a lovely colour - like crab apple jelly.
You'll love it spiced - so yummy - definitely spice the next batch ;)

Those look really good - I can rarely resist squeezing the bag as my quince harvest is usually quite small.

Quince eau de vie is lovely too.  ;)

Looks to be a decent crop! Probably about 18 or so nice big yellow quinces. I had to harvest a lot of them early as they were looking like snapping branches/pulling the tree over
