Most of the searching I have done says hubbard so will probably go for them.  What age did you find they were ready for culling?  Lotty is not laying at the moment so will put a few eggs in her nest box to encourage her to go broody.

We have 1 1/2 turkeys in the freezer as we only used one breast crown.  Have kept the neck and other bits for soup stock as well.

No room for a dozen but if we do get more this year will make sure we get the eggs a lot earlier.

Have you had any experience with Muscovy ducks GA?

Bit concerned about them flying as we only have a large garden.  Had to clip one wing on the turkeys every other week after one flew into a neighbours garden!   ::)

Did you have them as meat birds as well sparkyrog?

yes I kept them for meat and eggs and never rushed them it doesn't pay . they are good flyers  :) if you can find them I suggest you look for the white and lavender coloured ones ,the stubby bits don't show so much after picking .they are easy to tame and quite friendly birds I found . one problem though is if you have geese the drake will chase your lady geese at "that" time of year as they are related !! but my gander never chased the ducks in the same manner .
