strawberry netting- bee quandary
« on: July 09, 2012, 09:52 »
I picked up some tough fruit netting from Lidl some time ago which has 12mm square holes. I must do something about the thin green netting over my strawberry troughs which are on a shelf along the fence. The squirrels are either biting or tearing it and removing all the strawbs.
Will this mesh gauge be too small to allow bees in to pollinate?

Do you think I could get away with doubling up the thin stuff then?.....I've got a bit more somewhere....the bees could get in but it might make the squirrels work a bit harder!

I've used the small square cheap netting over my strabismus bed, not sure if the bees are getting in and out but have had no problem with pollination if that is one of your concerns :)
