hi ya has any one used the chillington grass slasher weeder , its a funny looking tool it looks like you do not have to stoop as much as you would with a sickle..........pete

I have one of those. It's ok, but you do still need to stoop a bit (well, I do as I'm 6'2") some one who is, shall we say "Vertically challenged" would find it a little more comfortable to use.
I have two gripes about it though.
1) The handle seems to have been designed for a fairy tale giants hand. It really needs to be slimmer to fit properly. I intend, one day, to get to grips (forgive the pun) with mine with a spokeshave and sandpaper so that it fits better. I have large hands and even I find it difficult to hold so the aforementioned "vertically challenged" amongst us will have , I suppose, smaller hands and will have some difficulty with it too, I imagine.
2) It is supplied pretty blunt. You have to set to with a stone or angle grinder (or both) to get some kind of an edge on it before you start to use it.

Other than those two gripes, it's reasonable value for money, takes no petrol or nylon line, and can be left in a shed with little chance of any so and so wanting to liberate it as they would a strimmer.
It's quite satisfying to use as well on taller weeds.
