I have six, beautiful aubergine plants, started to flower last month but flowers go brown and die before setting fruit. I did get sexy with a paintbrush, but it doesn't seem to have worked. I have only one marble sized fruit on one plant. Any ideas?
The same flower drop happened to some of my toms, St Pierre in particular.
Should i keep feeding the aubergines?

This is mine!. Grand total of 2 potential fruits from 10 plants.
They have got this big before, them rotted and dropped off :?

Someone please help us. Why is this happening?

Aubergines, like tomatoes, get blossom end rot if you don't water regularly. Also, the first ones tend to rot and the middle ones are much better, a bit like my courgettes.
ps My dad was born in Kiltegan, Wicklow is a really beautiful county.

Thanks Ice, I'll hang on in for the newer flowers to develop. Have to say they have suffered from a bit of irregular watering.
I know Kiltegan, you are right, we are blessed living here. We're just a bit too much above sea level to be as prolific as i would like in the veg garden. We do well, all things considered.
