g/day all got a bad back can,t bend when watering the garden,do what i do get ya self a 3foot lenght of 3quater inch copper pipe push it into your garden hose fix with hose clamp,when you water your plants just push it in to root area count to ten next plant,saves on water and gets water were its needed,surface watering is nogood got to get down to the root zone,I have also have raised veggie boxes 4ftx4ftx2fthigh,12 of,also 6 200litre thick blue pastic containers cut long ways gives me another 12,love my veggie patch,have a lovely day seeya.

Hope your back sorts itself out soon. Nothing worse for a gardener than to just sit and look at it  or just do a spot of watering

know what you mean about the back     You just have to work round it as much as poss and work out strategies for pain limitation.  Mine is not digging and only kneeling for short bursts

I was emptying my compost bin yesterday and my back was agony. It really does hack me off sometimes  :evil:

Me too!! i fell down the stairs last week and hurt my back, been having to watch the missus dig the spuds up while i am on light duties
