Any views on this?
Would it work over here?
Do you think I can convince hubby to make it? He is good with his hands

Should work fine it's basically a polytunnel and you see loads of those around Looks easy enough to build if you know what you are doing . My advice go for it

Ditto easy peazy looks like fun.

I saw very detailed instructions how to do this type of thing on a website somewhere - they used scaffold poles buried and then plastic water pipe stuck in them for the hoops. Then boards along the bottom so you don't spear the plastic with your fork.
I'll see if I can find the link.

no honest mate it was on a site in st helens,we were workin on there and this bloke had one,it was one of those rectangle ones with a opening at each end,he said they were scrapping them to replace with these new open shelter types so he got these lads to drop him one off.

When we lived in Essex, there was a Tesco trolley shelter in Colchester auctions once, at the time I was growing stuff, so never thought about it as a polytunnel or greenhouse!!!!
-
We once covered an old greenhouse frame with poly, bolted the frame down to huge railway sleepers, but it still took off in a high wind and smashed into my car  !! Insurance people wouldn't look at it - they said if it was someone elses car or someone elses greenhouse no probs, but coz we owned both, tough!
Moral of story - make sure it's anchored down well! Other than that, it sounds ideal! :)

You're right there
