My new obsession; Charles Dowding You Tube videos!
« on: March 06, 2018, 22:41 »
As we are enjoying the 'ahem' benefits of not being able to get into the garden whilst it's too cold and wet I'm satisfying my grow-lust with watching Charles Dowding's No Dig video's on You Tube via my TV which makes it feel like it's a commissioned telly programme

Starting to go slightly stir crazy now and I'm itching to sow my seeds but I know they'd be lost to the weather if I did...

If you want another excellent youtube gardener I highly recommend One Yard Revolution. The host Patrick is based in Chicago which is a US zone 5 climate and not too disimilar to our own weather. It's a very professional channel, he's a great presenter and he also subscribes to no dig practices. Plus his cat Oscar is awesome ;)

Haha, I’m a convert to no dig too, not that I’ve done much actual digging for a while really, but hubby used to rotovate for me. Had I of his books for years but I’ve just bought 2 more (arrived the day before the snow) . I’d already decided to follow his practice & have been emptying the compost bins on to the beds at the plot, I’m also going to have a go in the garden but that might be a bit more challenging, but it’s all ornamental. Here’s a few pictures of the plot before the snow came.

A woman's place is in her garden.

Very nice! 8)  that looks like an ideal set up to me.

I'm in the process of setting up a website for my own allotment association and I'm thinking of blogging how I get on with the No Dig method on there and I'll put some pics up here too.  Anything has to be better than the dreaded backache from trying to double dig heavy clay soil!
