Radishes

I picked a few radishes yesterday and we have just has some in salad for tea but they are a little "woody". Sort of hard and dry in places rather than juicy if you know what I mean.
Anyone have any idea as to why that would be? Do you think I might have picked them a little late - maybe I need to pick them a little smaller than I did. :?

Hi lentil, yep, it sounds like they are a bit old. You want them when they are nice and juicy. I did that once, couldn't believe they grew so quickly!!!

Yes, sow a foot , once every 2 weeks , better still mix your varieties at the same sowing: i.e. don't alaways sow "French B/fast"

we tasted our first radish last night, my son said there not like in shops. very hot will pick them today for tea. only had our allotment 2 months we all love it. ive been sowing them in 2 week intervals there good for the kids as there so quick to come up.
