Now been planted for 3 yrs and no signs of any flowers yet.(they all had flowers when purchased) They are about 18" high and look in good health. What can I do to encourage them to produce flowers next year...any advice?

Hi
Check they are in the correct soil. They need it to be on the acid side. How do the leaves look? Are they glossy and dark green with no mottling? Is it getting a reasonable amount of sun? Are you pruning it? Are you keeping it properly watered in July/August when next year's buds are setting?
S.i.t.g.

Hi s.i.t.g. Acid soil here. Rhodie and Azelea heaven. Why oh why do none of my three camellias flower? The buds don`t drop off because as yet they havent formed any. As photo shows they are very healthy. Any more suggestions please?

May be the photo but the leaves look light green to me. Have you tried feeding them with camelia feed?

Am I right in thing that camellias have to be planted in a certain position. Sorry but I'm not sure whether it's N S E or W.

Haven`t heard that one before but thats not so say you are not right.
One is in a sheltered position facing NW and the other two are in a protected place facing South.

Aggi can you find out about the position please cos I have moved one of my beloved camelias and it has not flowered this year. It is in the same pot and the soil and compost mix is correct, nice and acidic and I fed it as per usual. It is quite shaded which camelias like but I must have done something wrong cos I haven't any flowers either.
I know less today than I did yesterday, and I knew nothing then!
