On our allotment stand three apple trees. They are not yet ripe but there are plenty of apples falling to down the grouind (as they do every year).

Any idea what to do with these apples?

Stew them & freeze them for use later.

Make pies & freeze them.

Use them in chutney.

Make apple jelly, (with blackberries if available).

The list is almost endless.

Yes, cut any bruises or other blemishes out, a lot of early windfalls have codling moth grubs in them , you just cut away any evidence and cook the rest.

Or freeze them just as they are and later you can add to low-pectin fruits at the boil up stage to boost the pectin and after filtering this helps your jellies to reach the right set consistency without needing to add extra pectin.  Their ride in the freezer also helps break down the cell walls so when you add em at the pulp stage they do break down fairly efficiently.

what ever you do just remove them from around the tree ,

wasps , desease etc

With our fallen apples, I core, peel and half them lay them in the pie dish, sprinkle with sugar, cinnamon and sometimes raisins or sultanas, cover with crumble, cooked then freeze for latter.  Much better than shop bought
