I moved my hens earlier this spring into a big area with lots of trees and shrubs, they have settled in well but over the last three or four days they've started laying away and I can't find the new spot.
One of the hens is still laying in the hen house, but I've gone from six to one egg a day. I've hunted around but there's a big garden to cover and I just can't find the new spot. I don't think there's anything wrong with the hen house, they all troup in every night - Any advice?

ok, I've just seen the other recent posts on this subject - it's amazing how often my problems have just happened to somebody else too!
I must remember to search before I jump in with a question...

Put a pot egg or two in the nest box, then keep the hens shut in for the day.

I found it was very difficult to break the hens of laying in one spot, and had to make sure there was no way for them to get back to the old spot.
