We've come home after a week away to find the first ones ready.

Having an heirloom variety "Cyril's Choice" tonight, hope he had good taste!

Yes, they've been sadly missed, Tesc*'s "Vine ripened with Ethylene Gas" is no substitute.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

We found our first fruit today on the most sheltered of the basket plants. You lot down south really didn't believe how cold the weather has been....  :tongue2: ..... except today, where I understand we may be warmer. :)

I trust you'll let us know if you agree with Cyril  :D

Mainly just Shirley here as I had complaints about the "small ones" I grew last year.  :nowink:

Cyril's got good taste, but obviously not too bothered about quantity. Toms are medium size,  but not a lot of them.

I always grow Shirley & they're coming on nicely outside.

Apart from 3 Black Cherries from the g/house, the next to ripen will be the Shirleys outside..that's a bit weird, considering they were all planted at the same time

My Gartenperle in baskets are cropping now, but none of the other (20) tomato plants are even close. A few of them have small and very green fruit on them, but that's it.

And I can't believe my courgettes still have yet to produce a single pickable fruit.

Lucky DD. I have loads of small toms but nothing close to ripe yet, and I'm desperate for a real, fresh tomato.

One Shirley tomato so far, but I did enjoy it. Lots of flowers and a few very green toms, so I'll just have to wait for the sandwich....

Ate the first of the ripening tumblers this week on a beef sandwich for work.

Also spotted the very first of the Reise tomates forming... talk about alien mutations :)

I actually cheered today to find 2 red cherry toms were starting to ripen . I think my golden sunrise are going paler green, compared to the other green toms, hard to say yet tho'

I had a ham butty today, with cheese slices.  I wanted to pick my first tom..but a wee bit far off yet.

Still... I got my first handful of peas!
