Looks like you have fallen on your feet with that plot Jak  :)

I've seen worse weeds than that on some supposedly cultivated plots on our site
Cheers, Comfortably Numb.

I'm just off down the greenhouse. I won't be long ..........................

Just a thought Comforts, are you inland a bit, or do you get salty air etc coming over?

We're inland as you can see, but know your neck of the woods a bit!

(Sorry Jak, don't mean to hijack your excellent poat, I've been meaning to ask Comforts that for some time...

Hi Growster,

The plot is about 2 miles from the sea, and doesn't seem to be affected at all. Before I got the plots, I grew loads of veg at home, which is only about 300 metres from the sea. Never had any problems at all  :)

It does look like a nice plot Jak and real bonus to get the shed as well  :)  All you need now is a camping stove and a kettle so you can keep yourself fuelled up while clearing.  Oh and a chair so you can sit back and admire your handiwork  :D

Don't be disappointed, you are on the road of growing your own produce to feed your family. Your plot may look like a jungle at first but we all start there. Bide your time and don't get annoyed that things don't turn out right for the first time,we are all learning and my advice to you is to talk to others on the site, they will give you guidence, likewise use this site for any questions. Enjoy your plot, the work will be hard but the benefits like keeping fit, fresh air whilst cropping your produce will put a smile on your face and a glow in your heart. You will be proud of your achievements and the fact that your family are eating healthily :)

Good growing and weeding jak. You'll have to change your profile now from "no plot to lose" to "1/2 a plot to lose"

It's a good time to take a plot as you have the winter to clear it all at your own speed, while everything has slowed down a bit.

You can look forward to winter evenings spent planning your growing season, with a seed catalogue in hand, as well  :D

   OK I'm busted

In my case, surrounded by seed catalogues, usually looking at seed supplier web sites on my net book at the same time, glass of wine in one hand, pad and pen at the ready and little brain overheating trying to plan it all  ;)
