Our allotment shop will be opening on sunday after winter. I am still wondering what fertilizer thingies should i buy. I have half a plot and smallish veg patch at home.
what and how much would i need?

Just been looking at a bag of blood fish & bone and it says 4oz to the square yard for main treatment with a top up later.

4 oz = two good handfuls.

BFB is fine for an all round fertilizer. Get some on the plot a couple of weeks before crops are to be planted and you can apply again halfway through the growing season to give them a boost.
You really will not need as much as you think.
You really cant beat good old horse muck.

You should really be making as much of your own compost/feed as you can. It will still probably need some additional top ups and BFB is as good as anything, as others have said. Don't listen to the salesmen. If you can get your soil in good condition you don't need all these 'wonder' products and boosters.
