Personally, I'm a bit phobic about wasps but getting better as the years go by, normally my solution is to run out in front of high speed cars to get rid of the *, If I survive the wasp are generally dead on a windscreen..... made it to 52 although I wouldnt recommend this for anyone

OK. I put some powder in the nest under the cover of darkness and they appear to have expired. I suppose I ought tocover up the hole, after a few days, shouldn't I (once the stragglers have returned home and been contaminated)?

The nest will be dead now and unlikely to be reused.  I'd just get on with gardening and forget about them!
