Seed potato supplier selection.
« on: November 23, 2020, 17:43 »
How do you go about selecting which supplier for your seed potatoes?  We normally go to our favourite garden centre where you can buy 1 or 100.  But I had very good results from a company that sent seed spuds (as a second crop) through the post?

Cheers,  Tony. :)

I ordered mine from here, they have free p&p
https://www.jbaseedpotatoes.co.uk/delivery-information

The ones I bought from the garden centre last year, didn't do very well  (but that may have just been the weather) but decided to go back to JBA again for next years.

I'm another fan of JBA, I've bought quite a few over the years and never had any problems, but always had good crops!

I ordered my seed potatoes from JBA this year for first time, I selected delivery date as 15 Feb 2021, the order has been processed but not arrived yet, is this normal? I don't want to contact them unless I have to really as I know they must be busy.

They do make a point of not sending them out when the weather is very cold, so they won't freeze before they get to you. I'd leave it for a while before you start to worry ;)

Local GC for me. Again loose spuds so I get what I want and as many as I want and get  to pick them so all good spuds and a very reasonable price along with supporting a local business.

Garden Centres not open here in Wales, can't even buy gardening stuff from Home Bargains, Wilko ot supermarkets all cordoned off. Don't understand it, but those are the rules here i suppose  :(
