never tried guinea but have been told it's very tasty. Brian has been warned that if he keeps attacking me then this will be the outcome. The trouble is he is in love with my bluebelle and he doesn't want you to even look at her let alone go near her

I really love guinea fowl, i keep saying i'm going to get some more.  Trouble is here, they are such good fliers i cant keep them safe :(

They are delicious. Perhaps foxy thinks so too. I think they taste like we all want chicken to taste :unsure:if that makes sense ::)

Only 1 of mine Brian kept flying off when we got him so I clipped one wing and now although he can still fly a bit he doesn't go far  :)

Some people do not agree with wing clipping but the only reason not to do this is if they are at risk from preditors - even when they have one wing clipped they can still fly out of reach. Here is an article about pinioning and clipping of guineas:-

I've got four 2 week olds, 3 pied lavender and 1 lavender.  One of the pied is going to have to be culled I think, though, there's something wrong with his leg.  It's like its been put on the wrong way round. :(
OH keeps saying - leave it a bit longer, might improve- but I think not.  He doesn't like culling for lameness, could be something to do with having a sister with polio?

Thats understandable. What you need to decide though is if the keet will be able to grow and have a full life without any pain and without being bullied by the others. Also if it is a girl you will have to cosider if the leg will be strong enough to withstand being mated. If the answer to these queries are positive then I cant see a problem myself, however others may come up with more problems that I haven't considered.

my two guineas are named after Annie and Brian as they gave them to me, but yes I think both Brians have been warned that they may suffer the same fate  ;)
