Hi ,
Our first attempt at using an incubator has gone really well - 5 out of 7 lovely Pekins.
It's now the end of day 22 and the two eggs left (Lavenders) looked good when candled at 18 days but are showing no signs of piping - could anyone be good enough to advise  - us on how long to leave them before giving up? Many thanks. Stu and Deb

I usually leave them up to day 23, or 2 days after the first ones hatched.

Could anyone tell me if it's ok to candle eggs after day 18..?  Just I thought I read somewhere it wasn't ok after this time?

Try and give them a few more days just in case, before opening them, try and candle them.
I did it once to my suprise the chick inside had broken through the air sac and was looking at me, nearly dropped the egg in shock, but it hatched the next day so did another. The outcome the chick I saw looking at me never realy liked me to this day.
