my victoria plum tree was so burdened with loads of fruit that its
damaged some of the branches !!!!! its about 4yrs old
what should i do with the damaged branches??? cut them off
any thoughts people :(

Good evening samuria, it's best to remove the plums to reduce the weight, then trim back the branch beyond the break ensuring there are no ragged edges to the cut. Recent thinking is not to paint the cut with any oils etc.
Cheers, Tony.

thanks, i have tied up the damage branches,
so not to waste the fruits.
then i will cut clean beyond the break.
as you kindly said ;)

Hello can't advise much better than Klertiwallah the only thing I do with the cut wound is rub a bit of damp soil over the cut area I found this to be successful for the last 10 years

sounds good enough to me jezza thanks ;)
