sandwich pickle recipe
« on: August 02, 2009, 05:55 »
Hi All

I am on the hunt for a recipe. I want to recreate branston sandwich pickle.
The ingredients on the jar of the original stuff include rutabaga (swede), marrow, cauliflower, carrot, onion, and a few spices. All of which most of us will have growing at our lotties and thought this would be fun to try. I have no experience of making pickle though I imagine the principles are much the same for all once you get the hang of it.
Can you hear voices?

There's a recipe for Ploughman's Pickle in the Easy Jams, Chutneys and Preserves book which is similar to Branston Pickle! You'll just have to buy the book :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2:

I have made delia's plum chutney which is similar to branston in taste, you could add the extra veg for the texture.
