Hi All
I have a few cockerels on finisher iam sad to say...
So any way quick question for you ... How many weeks should they be on finisher before dispatching them???
(I cant remember how long i should keep them on finisher)

Depends on the breed. I only know that I was advised with Light Sussex to cull around 22 to 24 weeks. :)

I don't think there's a hard and fast rule, but at least a week on plain finisher to get any medications from their other feed out of their systems.

They may not roast well, but they will stew or casserole and Muntjac told me once that if I wanted to roast an older bird, steam it in the oven for a bit first to help tenderise the meat.

Right so i think its time for them to go i have them on finisher for at lease 4 weeks now..
