Foiled
« on: January 01, 2012, 14:20 »
Today whilst Jim has been shifting stuff around the yard he has found 2 hidden clutches one with 9 eggs in and another with 11. Then to top it all a broody was found sitting on a clutch of 19 araucana eggs. Sadly for her I don't want anymore chickens so had to oust her off them and throw the eggs away.
There was me thinking they were waiting for spring to start laying again  ::)
Staffies are softer than you think.

I doubt all would have hatched as she isn't big enough to cover them all (although she was doing her best to). I have had them return with little ones (and there was me thinking the local mink had got her) but these all ended sleeping in the trees and are a right pain when they all turn out to be cockerels and need culling  :(
