Frost predicted for tonight and for the next three nights in a row. Just what we need after being blown to shred!!!

well the good thing about the frost is it will dry the ground up

Aaah yes, but when you then rush off down the lottie cos there's a rare sunbeam on the loose, you find yourself stuck in a sudden downpour and your back to square one!  :(

It froze last night, went to work at 0550 and it was -3 which is very low for a coastal region.

Glad I covered up my beds!!!!!

local papers said -4 so I wrapped every thing up! when I went to work at 6am this morning there was a bit on the car but didn,t feel bad at all

I certainly hope so! I planted my first lot of spuds on Sunday just before the warnings about frost. It's been cold here but not as cold as predicted.  They are planted quite deep and covered so hopefully they should be fine.

May be a bit early for spuds in Scotland but now they're in... Just keep an eye on them and earth them up/fleece them when they show through the surface.
I can't decide whether to put mine in this weekend or not. I've got some under fleece as an experiment and it is amazing how much warmer it feels under it. (I don't actually sleep with my spuds but you know what I mean.)
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.
