I've never really grown potatoes before, but earlier this year, had some (Russett) from the grocery store that sprouted. Almost as a lark, I cut the potatoes into pieces with each having one or more eyes, planted them in big nursery pots.. The foliage died back, I dug them out of the pots and now have a few very small potatoes, the largest is maybe 4 cm long.
Advice needed: we have roughly 4 months left in the growing season. I'd like to take the small potatoes and re- plant them (in nursery pots again, I know slightly more about properly hilling them up). Do I need to do anything to these little spuds before putting them in the ground again? Am I better of storing them until March and planting then?
Or should I use these new potatoes in the kitchen and start over again next year?
