Crikey - are you mad? You'll have three people on your doorstep in the morning.
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

I think Aunt Sally might recommend an Eglu if she wasn't being so restrained.
:)

I got my coop from eBay, which with a bit of modification and several coats of varnish is doing the job very nicely for our three hens, and it could easily take a couple more.

Some pics of it are here, on my blog:

1. Budget ?
2. Space ?
3. Permanent run or Free range ?
4. Expansion for future ?
5. Plastic fantastic or wooden wonderland ?

And of course many more questions which will be answered for you.

Or you may be allowed to decide yourself, but it's unlikely.

We like our wooden coops as we have built them ourselves and have been able to modify them as we have gone along. Which has included building extensions and just whole new coops for the extra chickens that you will end up with. We went out for two silkies a year ago - we now have 5 in the garden, 18 at the allotment, 4 baby chicks, 6 eggs under a broody and 24 eggs in the incubator. Far from just two silkies all these chickens are of 9 different breeds!!! Be warned - chickens are addictive!!

After all that fanfare and no-one's commented !!

Lovely chooks CQ and having spent an hour cleaning out our wooden wonder, a very wise choice of accomodation !  :)

Hello, am new here but am currently having the eglu versus wooden debate, and also wondering what breed and how many. Am favouring the eglu as it seems simpler but was thinking of three hens. Does this seem reasonable on the basis they get to roam outside the eglu run during the day? Also what breed are the three hens in the eglu picture compostqueen?
Thx
