Yes it is! I had a patch of spare land on the lotty this year so I thought I will sow a load of the chooks treats and here a few months later they are happily muching away a few times a week! :lol: :lol: :lol:
Well worth doing as they love scratching through the roots as well as I pull the lot up as I go along.

Mine love it as greens or at corn stage. I pull it as 'grass' when it's only a few weeks old and leave some to make grain. The greens stage means you can use any bit of land you have temporarily spare.
Mine always get the roots as well :D
