desiree potatoes fruiting???????????

i have some desiree potatoes growing and they have flower and the flowers have now died but in theyre place are strange little fruit looking things a bit like tiny apples?????
what are they and are the pots ready?

i call em apples  :D  Dig up one of your spuds and have a look. if they're little leave them for a bit longer. Mine aren't ready yet so they're staying put while I eat the earlies, mind you got loads of them so it could be a while

lol  i was thinking about taking a bite to see how it tasted to glad i didint know

so is the whole thing a seed or will there be small seedds inside it?
i think im gona have a go at a new variety of potaotes

Desiree is fab!  Slugs don't like em cos they're rock hard. They store for ages too which is good news.  When you start harvesting them you'll be glad you chose them  :wink:

Desiree chips is what I look forward to most from the plot, oh and sweetcorn naturally  :D

Desiree are a main crop potato so should be ready when the haulms are dieing down.

Wish someone had told the slugs round here that !!! I've pulled 6 plants and most of the spuds have had bad damage.  They are also covered in scab far more than my Charlottes or Anya were.

Im not overly impressed with the taste either - but I have only had them boiled.  Big thumbs down for desiree from me.
