planted mine in october last year and they are a decent size apart from the odd one or two, i`m quite pleased with it for a first attempt.
the main thing for a first timer is patience as they take ages to put a green shoot up....but they do in time and wot excitement it is

thanks trillium- that cllears up my misunderstandings- as a first time gardener I just planted everything I could find and hoped for the best or at least to learn from my mistakes- I must say I have been extremly lucky with everything else- Now that I'm educated in garlic I shall plant loads this sept. I pulled it last night and yes, one bulb on each plant so It can go back in the ground when I plant again.

that is an interesting site, rambler,  I like the way they didn't jabberon on about how difficult and scientific it is ,  just plain comonsence talk.  you can really tell they are the experts-  thanks again-     muddi
