Title: black leg spuds, so can i replant?
Post by: titch on July 22, 2008, 09:25
Had to dig up and bin my maris pipers - blackleg got em  :(

if i can get some more seed spuds, can i put them in the same place?
The previous plant had only been in the ground for about 5 weeks, no taters had yet developed, the original seed ones were very rotten.

Black leg does not survive in the soil, but I wouldn't re-plant, it's your call though.

Strange, they did not grow any tubers. :?

It does come in on the seed potatoes.  Where did you both get them from ?

I got mine from a local sell it all kind of shop - large store called Rainb*ws, they looked ok, had plenty of sprouts (sorry cant remember the technical term for them) on them, and they looked so healthy, even when we took them down they didnt look too bad, but think thats because we got them early - all the plants had it on one stem or other
