Adnams green bottles

Hi,

My OH is brewing his first ever batch of bitter. We've been saving bottles to use, as we have 40 pints worth.

Do you think the newer light weight Adnams bottles will withstand the pressure with us adding the sugar and whatnot?

I think it'll be fine, but OH has visions of exploding bottles and wasted precious beer!

Any thoughts?

I read about these new thinner glass bottles in 'The Observer' over a year ago, and luckily I bookmarked it:

As various sources did not recommend re-using beer bottles even at that time, I changed to using full weight champagne bottles fitted with 29mm crown caps.
