I need some help. I have an awfull feeling my beautifull Ginger Heidi may be a Henry. We`ve had her almost 9 weeks and were told that she was 19 weeks when we got her which would make her about 28 weeks old. Today I caught her mounting two of the hens. She hasn`t crowed so far, in fact she is very quiet and gentle. I had a good look at her legs and think she has the start of spurs. I don`t know enough about them to spot anything else. I`m hoping somebody else can. What do you think?.

Ohhh Buff Orps - spent an age trying to work out what mine where :(
They are coming up to 34 weeks and all look the same  Getting eggs now so that fixed it for me

Pic of one mine taken today if you want to compare :?

The wattle does look bigger on yours but hey diffrent parentage could do that I would imagine :)

Oh think most hens have a bump where the spurs would start - well mine have :D

Not helping really am I :(

Hi

My Buff Orp, Sweetpea, is now 34 weeks and is most definitely Sweetpaul!

Our other cockerel (who is off to get the chop this morning ... gulp) keeps fighting with him and his hairs go up on the back of his neck.  I found the long hairs on the back of the neck the first give away, then the crop & wattle grew massively, not to mention the voice dropping!  So far he hasn't jumped on any of the hens yet!

When I first looked @ your pic, I thought that's got to be a girl because of the tail feathers but looking again I notice that the wattle & crop are very red so I wonder if that's not such a good sign.  Sorry I'm not much help either.  We only knew for definite in the last 3 weeks I'm afraid.
