Title: which weed killer
Post by: purron on September 22, 2008, 13:01
I'm not sure which one to use, Weedol or Deep Root?

Does anyone know the pros and cons of them?

Cheers,

Lee

Use up your Deeproot as it has now been banned and you have I think six month to use up any that you have and after that it's a hefty fine for using it.  Such a pity as we prefer it to Roundup.

Yup.  I use glyphosate and it does what it says on the container.  Kills 'em dead.

I used glyphosate as well. Sprayed about 8 days ago and the leaves started wilting a couple of days ago. How long does it take to kill weeds (a few different types sprayed). I bought the glyphosate from a reputable company but they forgot to enclose the information leaflet with it, I am still waiting for it to arrive by post.

Ive read somewhere that glyphosate harms the soil and can be passed on through to the crop.

I have also considered doing the organic method of laying a bed of hay then sprinkle with lime then water, and apperantly after three week the roots move to the surface and can be plucked out easily.

The only problem is that I dont know where to get any hay.sttraw from and how much it costs.

Ask a local farmer - they normaly sell it, a bale  will cost you between £1.50 and £2.50.
