Just made this for our little granddaughter’s 2nd birthday on Wednesday, she had a rainbow themed party yesterday.
Sorry no idea why it’s upside down on here, hasn’t done that on another forum !

Do these count? My first dabblings with engraving slate led me to messing about making some plant markers.

Thank you. Trouble is they've become a bit of an obsession now. However, they have on more than one occasion prevented the slaughter of a 'lost' fruit tree during the winter clearances!

One of the WI's I belong to, have just entered things into the South of England Show.  One entry was a miniature shop which had to be all knitted.   The Rules are stipulated regarding size, appearance etc.
Whilst not crafty myself, I go to the Craft Club and make the tea (that's a craft !)  So I was able to watch the ladies knit, the wall covering, carpet, little tiny toys, children looking in the window etc etc.  I could not see anything but talent, and it got awarded 'Highly Commended'.  Sadly our other entries weren't rewarded, but the skill of other WI is extreme.   Well pleased.  Congrats to all who took part (even the tea lady )  Mrs Bouquet

The thing with the shows is there are only so many places to be had and some talented people have to without .
the making of a good cupper is a true art  when we go out and about we have coffee because i carnt drink what some people call tea , the  daughter and i went fora cuppa and cake in a place called newbiggen on sea melanies i think it was called and its the best cupper ive ever had in a cafe , loose leaf ringtons tea  breakfast i think it was wonderful .

All the entries the WI made were on show yesterday evening, along with the judges comments.  Oh, said one lady, who organises the crafts, Its not sour grapes, but our entries were much better than the others, and they hadn't followed the rules, etc etc etc.   Whilst I admire all their talent, I kept very quiet, because, as you say, there are only X amount of prizes, and if you can't take it - don't enter.  So much for the caring, sharing WI ideals.   :D Mrs Bouquet

I had one for my wrist when my Daughter got married.  I cam from the wrist down into a point across the back of my hand all made in the brides flowers and colours.  So much better than pins.   It was admired because of being a little bit different.  Mrs B
