summer savory

hi all I'm about to make some sausages and the spice mix requires summer savory , i don't have any and no chance of getting and , looked for an description or the flavour and its all a bit mysterious .
is there any one can tell me of what it tastes and can i use some thing else that's similar .

Summer Savory has a distinctive taste but you could use marjoram instead. That's about the closest you'll get.

We grew some this year, a really good, I thought it tasted like a cross between rosemary and thyme. Very good with poultry
Easy to grow

Will it come back in the spring?

I doubt it. It's a hardy annual. Better to start off some more seeds February time.
