growing carrots in the same place year after year???

would this be ok to do as my garden is very very stoney and would take forever to clear them all and i understand that ideal carrots need a stone free enviroment so i was planning on completly clearing one patch of all stones just to grow carrots there

The problem your going to get is you will get a build up of diseases and pests in that area, better to move them every couple of years at least preferably every year.

I agree.

Why don't you clear two patches of stones and then alternate between them yearly,you'll only need to clear about a  6 inch wide trench for each so it shouldn't be too much work. :shock:

 i like that idea
any recomendation on what to alternate it with or shoud i fully rotae things round the one with no carrots

I'd alternate with lettuce or maybe spring onions.

They should be OK with a 2 year rotation and shouldn't harbour any shared pests  :)

You could always try growing the round ones instead, or growing them in raised beds?
