blight in spuds

When the dreaded blight has struck I have always dug up the affected plants but is this necessary-is it OK to just cut down foliage. I don't compost blighted crops-over the fence into the brambles!

Yes it better to leave them in the soil for 10 days or so , in case there's any viable spores about, esp if you want to store them.

What a quick response-just happened upon this site and i think its exciting. Also noticed a whole stream of clubroot ideas just after posting my question-not really used to these forums yet
