Went to the allotment last night to check everything ok and some of my peas have died, the leaves on others are turning yellow, this since saturday, could it be the exceptional dry spell?

Most probably, they dont like to be too dry. If they are going yellow though it might be a defficiancy of some sort

yup, it'll be the weather to blame, hopefully you are getting some rain today?

Yes, heavy overnite rain with thunder and lightening, i'll call on way home from work and see how they are.
