Im sure that you will get better and more detailed advise.
As a second year allotment holder all I did was saved a quantity of beans that I had missed picking, split the beans and saved the seeds in a envelope in the shed.
This year I planted as normal and had good crops and a full freezer.

I just leave all the runner beans pods whole on a tray until the outside is really dry and brown, then take out all the beans.  Once I'm sure they are nice and dry, store in paper bags til next year, enjoy loads more lovely runner beans!!!!!

Thanks to you both.  I'm a second year allotmenteer too and really wanted to save this year's seeds as we had such a good crop.  Thought this is what I should do, but wanted the expertise on this site, just to confirm my thinking.  pPcked quite a lot yesterday (whilst it was dry :tongue2:.  So will also have some to spare for anyone who wants them next year too
