Is anybody making a Scarecrow .....
« on: March 26, 2019, 16:18 »
If so, come to my house and empty out all my wardrobes.   I am completely fed-up with all my clothes an have got enough to build a scarecrow army.    I went to Brighton today, 2 buses and it took about 1 and 1/2 hours each way,  the idea being to buy new clothes.  Such a load of nasty rubbish, all I came home with was a T shirt, which I could have bought in the same shop in Worthing.    ::)  Mrs Bouquet

we bought a scarecrow from a garden centre last year for the NGS open day and we kept it for this years open day we to had a clear out of clothes that didn't seem to fit us anymore put it down to good living or to put it another way putting on to many pounds  :D

so it was a trip to Oxfam hopefully the clothes will do someone a good turn instead of gathering dust in our house

Actually that's given me an idea to amuse our little grand-niece and grand-nephew. Although I've already whizzed most of the year's-old clothes from my wardrobe I'm sure OH has some lingering about that we could use. If we stick some stout canes into the ground for its legs and tied on some more for its arms, we've got plenty of straw and baler twine to make the frame and there's some old gardening gloves we could use for its hands. If I could make its face look like the Snowman's I'd be very happy. If not, it would scare me more than the crows!
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

Has anyone used a scarecrow to deter rabbits... and did it work?

I nearly always look like I scarecrow, when working at home.  There are no rabbits, but wood pigeon, I flap my arms around a bit, but have to make a run at them,  -   can you picture it      Mrs Bouquet
