Title: Mud glorious mud
Post by: charliesmum on March 08, 2007, 12:03
Well, ventured down to the allotment this morning (first time in a couple of weeks) and spent 1.5 hours digging mud.  By the time I'd finished, I was the colour of a postbox and you couldn't really tell what I had done !

I'm sure in a few months when I have something growing, I'll laugh about it, but right now I feel as though I'm not getting anywhere.

Anyone else having the same problem ?

Could you leave the digging until the soil dries out a bit?  I'm sure I read somewhere that diggin when it's wet does something horrible to the soil structure.  But I'm a newbie so I'm quite likely to be wrong!
