I am pleased to announce the birth of my first egg..... :lol: :lol: :D

congratulations I got told off for eating a freshly laid egg when we looked after a friends hens, spolit the stock rotation. But I'd never eaten one that new before.

Aw, what a lovely moment it is....I'm sat at my desk at work, and fair laughed when I read this post.... I remember ringing round my family, texting friends etc when we got our first egg...and you feel so proud of your girl who has layed it....congratulations!!!!x

My RIR is laying little eggs every day. My Welsummer however is not, she just announces it for the entire time the RIR is on the nest. "Red is laying, Red is laying etc" for about an hour. Just waiting for a complaint now. :wub:

Did the same with my girls first egg, photo on facebook and everything.
Then another for their first double yolker.
And another for a softie.
so look forward to many more eggciting events <---(see what i did there ;) )

We are on egg no. 6 now! Had the first one last Monday, so 4 hens and 6 eggs in one week...... not sure how many are actually making the effort yet, maybe only Demelza... saw her in the nestbox and an egg in there shortly after!
