Plant ID and care - part 2
« on: September 29, 2011, 18:48 »
Righto, same again - see photo.

This gurt bleddy thing sprouted in the same bed as the previous.

All it seems to do is sprout these leaves and get bigger and bigger.

What is it? Will it ever do anything other than sprout leaves? How should I care for it?

Ta muchly!

This one looks like a sedge and will (eventually) throw up long lfower stalks with a brown, pendulous seedheady thing

Looking at my tummy, I know all about pendulous  :)

Thanks again. It looks pretty much fine just sitting there, so I'll give it another year and see if it actually "does" anything.

These thrive in woodland and edge of woodland conditions, if that helps  :)

Mmm - I'm not sure about sedge. If the leaves are comng out from a thick woody stalk which grows and puts more leaves out, could it be a type of yucca? Have you had a dig at the base to see what kind of root it has?
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.
