Just put them in, you won't get a crop this year but you will next.

If they are bare root plants then they will have been cold stored so will not have began to grow, but once they have been warmed up they will get going really well.

Just get them in as soon as you get them, even if you just pot them up for now then plant them out when your ready.

You'll have to water a lot to keep them alive in this drought, but other than that no reason not to plant them ;)
(They may flower but I don't think it would be a good idea to try for fruit as they will be stressed enough with late transplanting)

it is a bargain. I think you might not expect fruits this year and the strawberries do produce good fruits from 2nd year onwards. I dont think there should be any problem? when I planted strawbs for the first time I did it in 2nd week of may.  :)
One kid is handful. Two kids.... Example for chaos theory. Hats off to my mum who managed three...

If they flower, pull them off so that the plant can establish it's self well for the following year.
If you don't the plant will be of poorer quality for the rest of it's 4 year life.

Hi.
thanks so much for all your advice. Mr F still selling the strawberries, try and use code: f51103,  If they are not available on line, phone them. I spoke with them today and they told me they are still selling them, not sure the free delivery code will work, hey it's worth a try. You may have to wait a while though for them.
