I went to the plot today, the whole site backs onto a row of houses. stuck by the back gate of one house was a Mountfield rotavator, an old one, with 4 tines, 4 transport wheels and a ridger tool, £25.
I got in there like a shot.
I wheeled it over to my shed, filled it with fuel and it started 6th pull. Its a vertical Briggs engine, i reckon its 3.5 HP, twin belt drive to transfer box.
Bargain. There's one blade smashed off the outer offside tine, and the pull start could do with a drop of oil, but apart from that ill get it on ebay and see what profit i can make...........

Now, you are sure they were throwing it away before you took it right.... :tongue2:  Good catch though!
