While in Lapland I bought 2 pieces of beautiful handcrafted Sami felt
I'm going to turn them into decorative cushions

especially when you think that they are 60 years old - all metal and not a hint of chipboard in sight

Now this is not me being crafty, this is the quilt my friend made me for my birthday. It is called Epping Forest and the photo doesn't do it justice. The colours are just so amazingly vibrant.

I was overwhelmed by the gift.

And the funny thing was, we went to the visitors centre at Epping Forest where we often take part in the organised events selling our wares and as we looked out across the forest we saw all the colours that she had used in the quilt. It was quite magical.

We didn't quite have a stand up fight about her not taking money for the commission, so we left it that it would be my birthday present and I would give her a cheesecake. So she took away 2 cheesecakes for her freezer at the end of the evening yesterday.

I am truly blessed with all my friends.

When you enlarge it its fantastic, lot of work..

im doing a cross stitch for a friend who had her baby which was prem and very poorly but hes on the mend , its an easter one byt works well for baby boy or girl.

Also finishing off a cross-stitch fairy-goddess mother for my 'god-daughter' (I'm her guiding parent or fairy-goddess mother rather than godmother - I prefer fairy goddess mother of course
