Jeremy Clarkson's Farm

Is anybody watching his series about his farm on Amazon Prime? I'm not his greatest fan, having never watched Top Gear, but his farming series is worth a watch. I suppose a lot is scripted, but this doesn't detract from the hassle and enjoyment of growing stuff (and animals).

Finished it yesterday and enjoyed it as entertainment.

It did feel very scripted it parts (I loved the expression on Clarkson's face in the Daylesford farm shop  ;) ) and I wonder how much was played up for the camera's but it certainly brought key issues to light which is a good thing.  All businesses are going to have to change in light of recent events, farming is no exception the balance sheet made for interesting reading not just for the Clarkson year but what could be extrapolated for the previous.

Is there a season 2?  I'm keen to see how his move away from large monoculture farming and the diversification of the business side will work out in comparison to the changes by New Zealand farmers in the 80's when their subsidies were removed.

It's interesting stuff without being too heavy or political.

Watched all of them - absolutely brilliant. However, the real start was Kaleb the tractor driver. He'll definitely have a fan club from now on.

But it shows, in layman terms, what farming is all about, even the fact that he couldn't sell milk from the next county in his shop, when people were struggling to get food.
I may be Welsh, but I love ewe anyway!

I've managed a couple of episodes but it annoyed me. All that and he's pretending to be so inept. I suppose he makes a fortune from the TV so covering the farm losses. Couple of hundred thou for a tractor.. <sigh>
In fairness, I suppose that acreage is a bit much for my Merry Tiller :)

He also owns the production company and wrote the script.

Very clever, he must be the only farmer which doesn't turn a profit so no money for the tax man, but still gets grant money.

When he recounted his day, he said he got up at 6:30. That's midday for a farmer.
