Peeppeeps and I have started off some Hatching eggs in our Rcom Suro incubator, Temps Etc are fine..They are a Mixed Batch we have RiR Buff sussex, white sussex, brown leghorn, Cotswold Legbar and Burford Brown, The Suggested Humidity setting in the suro for Most of the eggs seems to be 40-45% humidity, BUT we are told that Burford browns Shells are VERY thick and require Much lower humidity, We have looked All over the place and get confusing and contradicting info.. Some say 20% or lower humidity, Some say 30% or lower with a mixed hatch, and some day 40%-45% is fine...So what do we Believe? Has anyone had any Experience with hatching Burford Browns?

No experience with those particular eggs.... but have lots of experience with the suro

I think that even if you need to incubate at 20% humidity then you will struggle as even with no water in the bators they will run at 37%ish in a normal room.

The bator cannot remove humidity.

I would set it at 40% and hope for the best..... the majority of the eggs need that anyway and hopefully the burford browns will be ok as well..... If not you may have to set another lot seperately and use a dehumidifyer near the bator maybe??

I was thinking Just that, I may need to get a Dehumidifier and put it next to the Suro, I had noticed that they are bad at removing humidity.

Anyone got any Experience with the Rcom 20 Pro? we are thinking about getting one of those as our main incubator and just using the Suro as a Hatcher or Secondary incy

Its not that they are bad at removing humidty, they are not supposed to

I have an rcom 20 pro too!!

It wont remove humidity either   To my knowledge, none of the incubators 'remove' humidty they only add or regulate it above the ambient level

I prefer the suro as a bator and the 20 as a hatcher....
